CP-RCNS is a control panel with display, adjustment knob and integrated sensors for temperature, relative humidity and CO₂. The unit communicates to the FAM-W room controller by wireless communication.

Indoor air quality is indicated directly in the display, showing a smiley face when the air quality is satisfactory and a sad face when the CO₂ level exceeds the defined threshold.

The casing is available in white or black, and the unit will have 7 years battery life under normal conditions.

General information

Application
CP-RCNS is a room control panel for TROX Ox room-control applications. The unit is used for local room operation, roomtemperature setpoint adjustment and monitoring of indoor air quality. It includes integrated sensors for temperature, relative humidity and CO₂, and is suitable for use in offices, schools and other commercial buildings where room users require simple local adjustment of the indoor climate.
CP-RCNS has a rotary adjustment knob and a display with visual indoor-air-quality indication. The display shows a smiley face when the CO₂ level is below the defined limit and changes indication when the CO₂ level exceeds the threshold. The unit communicates to FAM-W by wireless communication.

Functional description

CP-RCNS measures room temperature, relative humidity and CO₂ concentration and transfers the measured values to the FAM-W room controller. The unit also allows the room user to adjust the temperature setpoint locally.


The main display shows the current indoor climate status. By pressing the menu button, the user can view the temperature setpoint and actual temperature. The setpoint can be adjusted using the rotary wheel. Additional measured values, such as actual CO₂ level and relative humidity, can also be shown via the menu.


The unit communicates with FAM-W by encrypted radio communication.

Technical data
CP-RCNS includes sensors for temperature, relative humidity and CO₂. The unit is powered by a 3.6 V lithium battery and communicates on 2.4 GHz, and expected battery lifetime is up to 7 years, depending on operating conditions. The CO₂ measuring range is 0–5000 ppm, with typical accuracy of ±30 ppm + 3% of measured value. The relative humidity measuring range is 0–100% RH, with typical accuracy of ±3%
RH at 25 °C. The temperature measuring range is 0–50 °C, with typical accuracy of ±0.5 °C.

The enclosure has protection class IP30 and is intended for indoor use in dry rooms. The product dimensions are 97 × 97 × 33 mm. CP-RCNS can be mounted directly on the wall surface or on a recessed mounting box with 60 mm fixing distance. The enclosure material is PC plastic. The visible front is available in white or black.

Installation and commissioning
Install CP-RCNS on an indoor wall surface in a location suitable for representative room-temperature and air-quality measurement. Avoid locations exposed to direct sunlight, draughts, heat sources or other conditions that may affect the measured values.

Open the front cover and remove the battery isolation strip to activate the unit. Use only battery types approved by TROX for this product. Used batteries must be disposed of according to local regulations.

Connect CP-RCNS to FAM-W by using the TROX Ox ServiceApp. Press and hold the pairing button for 3 seconds to start pairing. The unit receives the mesh information and restarts.
It may take a few minutes before the pairing process is completed and measured values are transferred to the FAM-W unit.
