ADAPTER FROM RJ45 TO SPRING TERMINALS FOR CONNECTION OF FIELD DEVICES TO CONFIGURABLE FAM-W PORTS 

General information

Application
ADP-AD-SPC is used in TROX Ox room-control applications where analogue, digital or 24 V field devices are connected to a
FAM-W port via spring terminals. Typical applications include radiator or cooling valve actuators, 0–10 V VAV actuators, switch contacts and PIR signals. The adapter is suitable for new installations and refurbishment projects where field wiring is terminated locally.


Functional description
ADP-AD-SPC is a connection adapter for TROX Ox applications. It converts the RJ45 connection from a configurable FAM-W port to clearly labelled spring terminals, enabling fast and reliable connection of valve actuators, 0–10 V actuators and digital input devices. The adapter is intended for applications where field wiring has to be terminated directly instead of using a patch cable to the device. Key features Simple transition from RJ45 patch cabling to field wiring. Clearly labelled terminals for faster installation. Supports typical room-control applications with valves, VAV actuators and digital inputs. Reduces the risk of wiring errors when used together with the documented wiring diagrams.


Technical data
The adapter provides spring terminals for the following terminal labels: AO2, AI2, AO1, AI1, 24 V, 24 V, GND and GND. The available function depends on the configuration of the connected FAM-W port. The adapter does not change the electrical function of the port; it only provides spring terminals for the selected
function. Always configure and verify the FAM-W port before connecting field devices. Supported connection examples 24 V
on/off thermoelectric valve actuator. 0–10 V valve actuator. 0–10 V VAV actuator. Digital input from switch/contact or PIR device. Functional notes 24 V on/off operation cannot be combined with Modbus or analogue/digital input/output on the same port. Modbus operation cannot be combined with analogue input/
output or digital input on the same port. For 24 VDC thermoelectric valve actuators, use maximum one actuator per port due to inrush current. Digital input and analogue input/output combinations depend on the selected FAM-W port configuration.


Installation and commissioning
Install the adapter close to the connected field device or close to the FAM-W connection point. Connect the RJ45 patch cable from the configured FAM-W port to the adapter. Connect the field device cable to the spring terminals according to the selected wiring diagram. The terminal assignment must match both the selected FAM-W port function and the connected device type. Check polarity for 24 V supply and 0–10 V signals before commissioning. Installation note Do not connect multiple
functions to the same port unless this is supported by the selected FAM-W configuration and the relevant wiring diagram.
