Orion-Opus -V2 with Luna-PBM is a complete supply air diffuser unit for ceiling installation in comfort ventilation systems. The product combines the Orion- Opus diffuser front with the Luna-PBM modular plenum box, providing air distribution, airflow adjustment, measurement functionality and sound attenuation in one tested product configuration.

General information

Application

Orion-Opus is intended for supply air applications in modular ceiling systems and other ceiling installations where a square diffuser front is required, and adjustable airflow pattern is desired. The diffuser is suitable for comfort ventilation in nonresidential buildings such as offices, schools, meeting rooms, and similar areas.

The product is designed to provide stable air distribution and efficient mixing of supply air with room air. Orion-Opus may be used with different connection arrangements or plenum solutions, provided that the combination is dimensioned and documented for the relevant application.

Luna-PBM is intended for use as a plenum box in ceilingmounted air distribution systems. The product can be used for both supply air and extract air applications, depending on the selected configuration and connected diffuser front.

For supply air applications, Luna-PBM provides air distribution, airflow adjustment and measurement functionality. For extract air applications, the product can be used as a connection and balancing unit when configured according to the relevant installation requirements.

The product is suitable for offices, schools and other commercial buildings where ventilation layouts may change over time. The modular PBM design makes the product particularly relevant for buildings with changing room layouts, tenant adaptations or future refurbishment needs.

Functional description

Supply air is discharged through the adjustable nozzles in the front panel. The default nozzle pattern creates a rotational air pattern, providing high induction and rapid mixing with the room air. When required, the nozzles can be adjusted on-site to adapt the airflow pattern. This contributes to good thermal comfort and helps reduce the risk of draught in the occupied zone.

The removable front panel provides access for installation, inspection and cleaning. Depending on the selected system configuration, it may also provide access to components installed behind the diffuser front.

Luna-PBM connects the duct system to the selected diffuser front and supports airflow regulation and commissioning. The plenum includes an integrated airflow adjustment damper and measurement outlets for airflow verification.

In supply air applications, the plenum contributes to even airflow distribution to the diffuser front. Internal sound absorbing material contributes to reduced sound levels from the air distribution unit.

In extract air applications, Luna-PBM provides a connection between the room-side air terminal and the duct system, with the possibility of airflow adjustment and measurement depending on configuration.

Design

Orion-Opus has a square diffuser front with adjustable nozzles, and a rotational air pattern as standard. The visible front panel is removable and designed for integration into different ceiling systems.

The diffuser is available in different sizes and ceiling adaptations. Variants prepared for X-SENS TPDM allow integration of temperature measurement and presence detection directly in the diffuser front.

Luna-PBM is based on a cylindrical plenum design. Compared with traditional rectangular plenum boxes, the cylindrical geometry enables a modular construction and supports conversion between different installation types.

Material and surfaces

The diffuser front panel and visible ceiling components are manufactured in steel, and Opus nozzles are made of plastic.

Standard finish: RAL 9003, gloss 30

Optional finishes: Special RAL or NCS colours on request

The plenum box is manufactured in galvanized steel. The unit is internally lined with sound absorbing polyester material and equipped with an EPDM rubber gasket on the connection spigot.

Internal components may vary depending on configuration and application.

Commissioning

Commissioning depends on the selected system configuration and any connected plenum box, damper or airflow regulation unit. Orion-Opus as a diffuser front does not in itself define the complete airflow measurement or regulation function.

When used as part of a tested air distribution unit, commissioning shall be carried out according to the documentation for the complete product combination.

Luna-PBM includes an integrated airflow adjustment damper and measurement outlets for airflow verification. The damper can be adjusted and locked in the required position, allowing accurate balancing during commissioning.

The commissioning procedure depends on whether the product is used for supply air or extract air, and on the selected diffuser front. Airflow data and correction factors shall be taken from the documentation valid for the complete product configuration.

Maintenance

The diffuser front can be removed for inspection and cleaning. Maintenance is normally limited to periodic cleaning of visible surfaces and inspection of the diffuser opening.

Cleaning intervals should be adapted to the building use, indoor environment and applicable maintenance routines.

The flow insert, when fitted, can be removed and reattached for inspection, cleaning or reconfiguration.

Orion-Opus is designed for long service life, stable performance and easy maintenance. The removable front panel supports inspection and cleaning, and the product can be used in different system configurations where compatibility is documented. Luna-PBM is designed to support sustainable and flexible building solutions. In modern buildings, ventilation products are often replaced due to changed layouts, new tenant requirements or altered installation conditions rather than technical end of life.

The patented PBM concept enables the plenum box to be rebuilt and adapted between installation types. This can extend the actual service life of the product and reduce the need for replacement.

Accessories

Flow insert for supply air applications, Luna-PBM may be equipped with a removable flow insert to support even airflow distribution to the diffuser front. The flow insert can be removed and reattached by means of a spring steel ring positioned in the groove of the spigot.

For extract air applications, the flow insert shall be removed if required by the selected configuration.
