TROX Auranor: With concern for the environment

With locally-made products, a global perspective and a conscious approach to conserving nature, TROX Auranor takes responsibility for creating a good indoor climate with a concern for sustainability.

TROX Auranor works to create a good indoor climate for people, with a concern for the environment. To provide a better quality of life for people, we focus on sustainability, and ensure that environmental protection and economic and social development go hand in hand and reinforce each other. Our factory and head office at Brandbu, Norway, are located in a rural area with the forest and its bio-diversity as our nearest neighbour. Conserving nature and the environment is in our DNA.

Locally-made products

We manufacture our products locally in Norway, which our customers value highly. That means that we have control over all the processes from the start to delivery of the finished product. Our production is based on a well-developed ‘just in time’ philosophy, which results in the shortest possible production time and competitive prices. Local processing of raw materials helps to make us a very sustainable business and a sought-after supplier.

TROX Auranor focus on maintaining the districts. A large proportion of our staff come from the immediate area, and we are determined to use local businesses to supply goods and services. We also make donations and contribute sponsorships to local associations and clubs. In this way, we supporting our employees and their families, and the local community as a whole.

Our environmental policy

Our development department is constantly working to find new and even more environmentally-friendly improvements in our production areas. We look for innovative solutions within logistics, including the option of packaging-free delivery. We work to create products that unite people’s need for a good indoor climate with energy savings. There is a lot of talk about quality and the environment in the construction industry, but fine words are not always enough to satisfy our customers and take care of nature. Our products and systems should serve not only people but the environment as well. We aim to be the most environmentally efficient company in the industry. Our concern for the environment benefits everybody, both now and in the future.”

Raw materials and waste

There is a high proportion of recycled matter in our raw materials: aluminium, 30% recycled material; aluminium profiles, 35% recycled material; steel, 25-100%; and insulation, up to 70% recycled glass in production. Other components of the products, such as paint and sealants, are classified as non-hazardous according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP).

TROX Auranor takes care of its own waste. Sorting at source is part of our everyday routine. We discharge our environmental responsibility through our membership of Grønt Punkt and Renas.
