Type SCHOOLAIR-V

Decentralised ventilation units of type SCHOOLAIR-V provide individual and energy-efficient ventilation of class rooms and playrooms in daycare facilities but are equally suitable for office and administration buildings where high air quality is a must.

SCHOOLAIR-V units supply conditioned fresh air to the room and discharge exhaust air to the outside. Due to their low height and compact depth construction the units are particularly suitable for refurbishment projects as they can be integrated into the existing structure without major constructional changes.

• For vertical installation adjacent to a window, e.g. to the side or on the sill
• Effective heat and noise insulation
• Heat recovery with bypass
• Optional heat exchanger
• Economical operation due to demand-based fresh air flow rate
• Energy-efficient EC radial fans
• Low sound power level
The ventilation units contain two energy-efficient fans, heat recovery, and two filters. They can be fitted with an outer casing on site by the customer or, alternatively, be delivered complete with outer casing including grilles or perforated sheet metal face plates.

Heating and, if chilled water is available, cooling the room is possible with an optional heat exchanger. The heating capacity is sufficient to heat the supply air up to approx. 40 °C. Thus in many cases a static heating system is not necessary.

SCHOOLAIR-V has been designed as a ready-to-operate system with control components for individual room control.
Supply air
The supply air fan provides fresh air, which flows through a shut-off damper and a fine dust filter. The shut-off damper prevents an uncontrolled air flow in case the unit has been switched off. The Class F7 fine dust filter meets the hygiene requirements of VDI 6022.
For the thermal conditioning of the fresh air a heat exchanger for heat recovery and, as an option, an additional heat exchanger for heating and / or cooling are provided. The heat recovery takes place recuperatively with a plate heat exchanger. A part of the heat in the extract air is transferred to the outdoor air. When it is sensible with regard to energy efficiency, i.e. during
the transitional period in spring and autumn or to prevent freezing, a bypass damper opens the heat recovery bypass.
The supply air is discharged into the room as a displacement flow.

Heat exchanger
The thermal loads of the room are dealt with by the heat exchanger for heating and, if chilled water is available, for cooling. In the heat exchanger, the temperature of the air rises to approx. 22 °C (static heating system exists), or with adequate hot water flow temperature to approx. 40 °C, to cover the façade heat loss (normally no static heating system necessary).

Extract air
The extract air fan extracts the air from the room near the ceiling and discharges it through the heat exchanger (for heat recovery) and the shut-off damper to the outside. A coarse dust filter in the extract air flow protects the fan and the heat exchanger for heat recovery from dirt and dust.
