National Stadium "Birds Nest"

For the Olympic Games 2008 in Peking, many fascinating buildings were constructed such as the National Stadium, also called "Birds Nest", or the National Swimming Center, also known as "Water Cube". The exterior covering of the Swimming Center consists of 3,000 air-filled cushions made of a special transparent film. This film is capable of lighting up in over 1,670 shades of colour and offers a spectacular play of colours.

Pleasant climate in the "Water Cube"

TROX supplied over 4,000 staircase swirl diffusers as well as jet nozzles and smoke dampers to the "Water Cube" which was designed by the Australia-based office PTW Architects.
In the Olympic Badminton Stadium, over 9,000 staircase swirl diffusers ensure a pleasant climate for the approx. 6,900 spectators. Furthermore, TROX products were installed in the National Stadium and in the "Laoshan Velodrome", the cycling arena.
