Reverberation chamber

The heart of the acoustic laboratory is the reverberation chambers, which have been specially built and decoupled from wall or ceiling slabs for the purpose of acoustic measurement. The chamber volumes are 175m³ and 265m³. Depending on the measuring task, the tests are carried out in the respective antechambers or in the reverberation chamber itself. All the walls of the reverberation chambers are acoustically hard and antiparallel, which enables a good distribution of sound in the chamber. In this diffuse sound field – above a certain limiting frequency and within a standard tolerance range – identical sound pressure levels are measured at measurement points that are freely selected. The sound pressure levels measured are converted into sound output values. These form the basis for the acoustic data in our product documentation.
